Knee Injuries Galore......

Seems like a YEAR of knee injuries in this family! OH MY GOODNESS! The Hicks family, that is! YES, Terrie, you are still a Hicks! THE day Terrie fell off the boat and bruised up her shin, earlier that day I had closed the freaking safe door on my knee (left knee) and she had come thru my DT and I told her about it (as I "winced" in pain!) and she laughed........ and later that day she fell...... OK?????? that was our 2nd same kinda injury on the same day........ a few years ago we BOTH got badly burned on the same day.......... both the right arm i believe........ anyway, since that day, i've fallen at home and injured and badly bruised up the RIGHT knee of mine....... OH my goodness........... and yesterday (Saturday, April 26, 2008) my son (Terrie's nephew) decided to take a dive off the back doorsteps and land on his KNEE on the big ac unit........ OH WOW....... if this just has NOT been a month for knee injuries........... my left knee, that got "slammed" in the safe door at work (BY accident, mind you) still hurts......... the bone got bruised, and bones do take time to heal....... the right knee (this past week) was just one of those at home "slip ups" where the kids left something on the floor and I didn't see it b/c i work such odd hours, my sleep times come few and far between.......... BUT the bruise on my right knee looks BAD right now........ although the left knee, the bone was bruised and less visible than the right knee, was the worse one........ the right knee may look bad, but the left one is worse...... i showed the big bruise on my right knee to the kids in hopes they'd clean up their mess...... didn't work....... they looked at my knee like, "MOM, I'm so sorry........" then did NOTHING else.......

YES TAYLOR, I was scared of that Bull tonight, BUT I was more scared of the bucking horse....... OMGoodness.... that horse came after the spectators (at the Bullpit Rodeo) tonight...... OH WOW! I've seen the bucking bulls before, but tonight was the first time I saw a rider ride out on a bucking bronco (horse) bareback! HE had courage! THAT horse was PISSED OFF! OMG! HE, the horse, headed towards the gates....... towards the spectators...... you've never seen so many people step back so fast before.... i'd say run, but they didn't run, they just stepped back.......... that horse was MAD, ANGRY....... OMG!

I'd watch something like that again and again too, if given the opportunity to!

The Bullpit Outreach Ministry Rodeo every 4th Saturday of every month! On May 24th and 25th, though, it will be a paid rodeo rather than the norm........ they are sponsoring 4 young riders to go to Texas.......... I SO WANNA be there, I HOPE i can be there........ don't know what my work schedule will look like though!

OK, so my kids and i are taking up horse riding lessons............. WE will be (hopefully) riding in a rodeo soon........... in about 2 or 3 years hopefully........

American Idol

AI REALLY pisses me off! Carly Smithson was the BEST performer on the show this year! SHE IS AWESOME! EVERY FREAKING song she sang was AWESOME! So tell me, HOW THE "F" did she get eliminated? Brooke W was horrible, Jason C is even worse, HOW are THEY Even still on the show??????? AND Carly got eliminated??????? WHY????? CARLY always does an awesome performance!

I'm MAD! I'm ANGRY! I'm PISSED OFF! American Idol is stupid sometimes! Carly Smithson was the BEST on the show this year! HOW did she get eliminated? HOW? Her music is AWESOME! AND everyone I've talked to about this agrees with me........ HOW did SHE get eliminated when you have NO talent Jason and some talent Brooke?

Anyway, Carly, if you ever read this, YOU'RE THE BEST of the 2008 season on AI as far as I'm concerned!

Revisiting My Teenage Years

Lately I have been listening to LOTS and LOTS of music from when I was a teenager! A couple of weeks ago it was Randy Travis! I love his music so much! Awesome! My favorite Randy song is "Diggin' Up Bones".

Tonight, it is the night for New Kids On The Block! YES, I was a NKOTB freak just like everyone else my age at the time! My favorite song is "Cover Girl". AND they're doing a reunion tour! I wonder if they can still move like they did in the late 80's/early 90's! Anyway, I wanna go see them!

Did It Again....

Injured a knee today, but it was the opposite knee than the last one I injured. I slipped on something the kids had in the floor and I bruised it up pretty bad, but I will be ok! It will heal soon, I'm sure.

A Good Day for once, please?

I've had crappy days lately, been really "down" and getting depressed and not feeling like myself. WHY should today start out any different? I was hoping to sleep in, didn't happen. Taylor calls from school to say she lost the checks for lunch money on the way to school. Luckily I found them. Since I was out of the house already, I chose to pay a bill. Get home, go to change clothes, the puppies are sitting in my way, and there was an old cell phone charge on the floor, with the prongs sticking up. You can only imagine how painful it is to have the prongs of a cord stick into your foot. And yes, it is bleeding, so it went in just deep enough to break the skin. It hurts like you wouldn't believe!

Anyway, going to try to relax some before I go to work, and try to enjoy some "me" time that is beyond much needed for the moment.

Carpet cleaning....

It is almost 1 am, and I am about to rip some carpet out of the house! Yes, I pick odd times of the day to clean (I like cleaning late at night when everyone is asleep). The hallway carpet in this house is just "dead"... if you know what I mean! That carpet has been so "used and abused", it is time for it to go. Anyone who walks in the hallway can see a flat trail where the "walkway" has been established on that part of the carpet. The only "fluffy" parts to it is where a piece of furniture may have been stored for a small length of time. And since I have got a lot of tiles left over from where I re-did the living room floor about 2 years ago, I'm gonna use them tiles (probably not tonight though) and re-do my hallway! It's gonna look so much more lovely! And eventually, the entire house will be carpet free, and my allergies won't be quite so bad! If only I could convince David we need to get rid of a few cats, my allergies would be even better. There are too many of them darn cats in this house and he has it in his head that it would "just not be right" to put them outside. Some of them want to go outside! They like it out there. Cats were meant to be outside critters, not inside ones.

Anyway, lemme go work on pulling that carpet out of the hallway!

PS.. I'm having a Randy Travis week this week. I've been listening to him for days! LOVE LOVE LOVE his music! Have since I was about 12 yrs old.....

My daughter this morning decided to take off to school and left her brother behind at home. They are suppose to walk together. She has lost all priviledges for a very long time. I'm so angry with her.

Then, I come to find out, my son lied about his homework. He told me last night it was done. Showedme a page that was done, and said that was ALL of it. He flat out lied to me!

Neither of them have done anything I have asked them to in the last day or so. They'll be lucky if they have anything other than beds in their room when they get in from school today.

I am very angry right now!

I'm very angry over a situation at work. I'm so angry, I am going to be meeting with the big boss this week sometime. The store manager sent me an ugly message at work, and it pissed me off! It was about a new girl that works there, and then there was an accusation made against me that is very untrue, and I let the store manager know that! I feel I am owed an apology, and I will tell the boss that one. So much stuff has been done to me there, or said about me and NEVER once have I recieved an apology! I'm to the point I'm in tears right now b/c of that place! I'm sick of the nonsense at that place! Enough is enough! I really want a less stressful job with better hours! Anyway, I'm done with this little blog for now!

Why do things happen like they do sometimes?

That precious little angel was to be brought into this world today. However, she never made it to this world alive. There seem to be NO answers in a situation like this. It is very devastating and heartbreaking to her parents, the ones who loved her and wanted her so much! My heart really goes out to them right now! They are going to be held up daily in my prayers! I don't know much else to say.

I know this may be a little bit confusing to some people, but I just had to say what I had to say!

Update....

Just to let you know, my SIL "T" did NOT break her leg, it is just badly bruised up! Thank goodness for that, right?!!! For my knee, the swelling went down after 2 days, but I do have a bad bruise (with a knot inside of it) on the inside of the knee, but it will go away, it will be fine! It hurts for anyone to touch it, though, therefore, I refuse for ANYONE to touch it! In about a week, things should be ok!

Anyway, if you have a bruised body part of any kind, just know it will be a few days before that part feels human again, but you'll be ok! That's the way it always happens!
