What A Day!

Today was going great at work! We had fabulous times for lunch today! Our crew was hyped, I was hyped! It was awesome! Around 2, the Assistant Principal of my children's school shows up and asks to speak to me outside. I saw my son standing outside! My son has done NO work for days, NO homework, NOTHING! Apparently notes had been sent home with him, no one knew anything about it! They had decided to suspend him from school for 2 days. WHAT? So when the Assistant Principal left, I called David and told him what was going on. I could tell on the phone he was furious. He said, "Call Grandma!" So I did. Grandma wasn't too thrilled with what I had to tell her, and she said, "Call Terrie." So I did. When I told Terrie, who happens to work for the school system, that Aaron had been brought to McDonald's by the Assistant Principal, she was LIVID! She was like, "THEY cannot do that! They are not allowed to leave the premises of the school with any child without a parent's permission, did they call you or David?" When I said No, she told me to call the Superintendent. She told me later on she'd be up there to get Aaron from McD's. I called the school board but the superintendent is on vacation, so I got ahold of the Assistant Superintendent, and he and I played phone tag. Eventually David spoke with the Assistant Superintendent, then he called up to the school and gave them the "what for" for taking our son off the premises WITHOUT someone's permission. Then he set up a meeting with the principal and the assistant principal for when he got off work at 5:30. As of right now Aaron is no longer suspsended. I will be going to the school board tomorrow morning. Today is not the first time I've wanted to pull my children out of that school. There are 3 elementary schools in this town for the kids to go to. I will be going to the school board in the morning and having a chat with the Assistant Superintendent, and then I will be getting a waiver to get my son OUT of that school next year. If he's not learning something there, there is a reason. They aren't teaching him like they should. I feel they are picking on him. I'm not letting him off for not doing his work, he hasn't even put forth an effort. If he'd put forth an effort and still not learning something, then that would be different, but something in that school is making him not want to do anything. I will bring that up. I will bring up other things as well. I don't want him going to that school anymore. There are about 3 weeks left of this school year, so there's no sense in pulling him out right now for 3 weeks, but next year, I want him at one of the other schools here in town.
David, also, is not done with the school board on some of these issues either. What I can't comprehend is WHY did they NOT call either of us? Apparently Aaron has 14 detentions that he failed to go to! 14!!!!!! I didn't even know about 1, let alone 14! AND NO phone call from the freaking school! WHAT is wrong with that picture????
Anyway, done venting for now! I will talk to yall soon!
